There are four inner planets; Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mar. These planets are the ones closest to the sun. They all have solid rocky surfaces that you can stand on. These are called terrestrial planets because they are earthlike Terrestrial planets have craters, although some inner planets have more than others.

There are five outer planets. These planes are the one farthest away from the sun. Thy are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, and Pluto. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune have no solid surface unlike Pluto. The first four are therefore Jovian Planets. The two outer planets, Jupiter and Saturn are the largest in our solar system. They are large enough to be seen without a telescope.
